Click-ON Sept. 16 2015 - Born in Pisa Click-ON, the software friend of doctors.

Click-ON (Clinical Knowledge ON action) ) is an interoperable and open-source platform for the integrated management of clinical data in cardiology, the result of a collaboration between public and private sectors for more than 18 months, involving IT specialists, clinicians, epidemiologists and computer scientists.

The project was carried out by Extra Srl, a Pontedera-based company with branches in Milan, Rende (Cosenza) and London, leader in software solutions development, in collaboration with the Institute of Clinical Physiology of CNR in Pisa, with the support of the Tuscany Region under the call POR Creo FESR 2007-2013.

Click-ON was developed starting from the idea, and a need, to integrate clinical and health data collected from individual patients over the years to identify pathways for customized diagnosis and treatment.

According to Giuseppe De Marco (Head of Research and Development of Extra) and Sabrina Molinaro (Head Section Epidemiology and Health Services Research IFC-CNR of Pisa), “The project comes from the need to use the immense amount of information collected from patients, representing a precious capital for the proper identification of a disease and can concretely support the decision-making processes."

The system, which is targeted towards hospitals and clinics, runs on all browsers and is accessible via any device with web browsing capabilities. You can also interact with the software hands-free, using only voice input. With the aid of a suitably validated medical ontology, Click-ON is also able to suggest any disease related to a specific pathology.

Interoperability, simplicity and speed of use are the strengths of the platform that make Click-ON a novel prototype and innovative in international scale.

The project will be presented to industry experts on September 18, 2015 during a workshop to be held at 9 am, at the headquarters Extra Pontedera Via Salvo d'Acquisto 40 / P.
