The event, which included hands-on labs, various free Red Hat training workshops, multi-topic breakout sessions and networking opportunities, was the best place to introduce Extra's newest subsidiary which focuses on providing Red Hat products and services.

As one of Red Hat's Advanced Business Partners in Italy and a respected competency centre in the EMEA region with a known track record of delivering success, Extra Red's evolution into its own company from its beginnings as a business unit within Extra is no surprise.

The partner conference may be the first event Extra Red attended, but it's no amateur. They're backed by almost 10 years of Red Hat experience with some of its projects being presented as best practice cases in past Red Hat conferences.

Red Hat values in focus

Extra Red is fully committed to embracing the Red Hat values and culture as it inherits the system integration experience and Red Hat partnership.

During the partner conference, the importance of making partners understand and adopt the values of Red Hat couldn't be emphasized further. From the Red Hat's side, they expressed their appreciation of how the partners and community members have actively promoted this.

Stronger Together

The Red Hat Partner Conference highlights the growing importance of partners in helping Red Hat spread as Red Hat EMEA General Manager Werner Knoblich said, "The partner conference is for us a platform to engage to connect with the partners, build relationships, trust and the connections. We need the partners to help us with the reach and to build the real solutions."

He added, "In the end, the customers are not buying infrastructural software. They're buying a solution to a problem. Red Hat provides one part of the solution and the partners add their added value. "

The conference's theme was "Stronger Together" and revolved around topics such as Internet-of-Things, hybrid Cloud, DevOps, containers and new strategies of digital transformation and above all, open source, which allows to drive innovation in these areas.

The event also included a Red Hat Developer Hackathon which aimed to demonstrate the power Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Mobile, and the Red Hat JBoss Middleware development tools.
